Lennox Andrew Santiago only lived 23-months before his life was tragically cut short while at daycare.
No parent ever expects to drop their child off with a caregiver and have something go terribly wrong, but Lennox’s parents found themselves in that exact situation.
His daycare facility ended up being anything but a safe place for him to be.
And the police spent months investigating what really happened to this poor little boy before finally making an arrest.

24-year-old Jessica Sims was the one who was supposed to be caring for Lennox, but it looks like she did anything but that.
She ran the daycare Lennox went to right out of her apartment at 103 Roxboro Circle in Mattydale, New York.
On July 17th, 2019, Lennox was dropped off with Jessica at her apartment, and then at around 4:30 that afternoon she called 911.
According to the Onandaga County Sheriff’s Office, she told the operator that Lennox had just fallen out of a chair he was sitting on, and he smacked his head.
When paramedics arrived at her apartment, they found Lennox unconscious, even though he was still breathing.
Paramedics rushed Lennox to the Upstate University Hospital. It was determined by doctors that the little boy had sustained some kind of severe head injury, and they performed surgery on him.

Just two days after he was admitted to the hospital, Lennox sadly passed away.
“He had an infectious smile and radiated love to everyone he met,” the obituary for Lennox reads.
Syracuse.com reports that Jessica was home alone with three other children the day Lennox got hurt. By her.
Sergeant Jon Seeber went on to tell them that Jessica was asked several different times about what exactly had happened to Lennox, and “her story changed on several occasions.”
She then ended up admitting to investigators that she took Lennox’s head and slammed it into a coffee table, though she never gave them a reason for why she would do something so heartless to a child.
It took 8 months for investigators to put together all of the pieces, and they are now saying that Jessica caused Lennox’s injuries.
“After a several month-long investigation by detectives assigned to the Abused Persons Unit, Sims was charged with manslaughter in the 1st Degree,” a press release from the Onandaga County Sheriff’s Office says.
“She is accused of recklessly causing the child’s death by striking the child’s head on a table inside her residence.”
“Sims was arraigned on March 12th in Centralized Arraignment Court and remanded to the Justice Center in lieu of bail set in the amount of $25,000 cash or $100,000 bond.”
“She is scheduled to appear in the Town of Salina Court on March 18th.”
