The Internet Is Saying This Rare Animal Rescued By An Australian Animal Hospital Looks Just Like A Real Live Pikachu

The Boronia Veterinary Clinic And Animal Hospital shared in a Facebook post that she is not a Pikachu, she is a very rare Golden Possum.

They also went on to talk about why she is such an interesting color!

“The Golden Possum! We recently had a very special possum brought in to the clinic,” they explained.

“She’s a rare golden variety of the Common Brushtail Possum. The golden colour occurs due to a mutation which causes a low level of the pigment melanin which gives them their normal colour.”

“They are so rare in the wild as although their bright colour makes them look special to us, they also stand out to predators!”

“Luckily for this baby brushtail she’s gone to carers to be raised and then will end up in a wildlife sanctuary so she can live a long happy life.”

Even though this animal hospital set the record straight on her, the internet still insisted she is an actual Pokémon.

“I seriously cannot show this to my daughter or else she will insist we get a real, live Pokémon.”

“Yeah pretty sure that’s a Pokémon.”

“Oh! Lovely! I want to meet Aussie Pikachu.”

Everyone agreed though she’s downright adorable!

“Cute. I thought it was fake!”

“She’s so cute! What beautiful fur.”
