18 Snapchat Hacks You Absolutely Need To Know

In today’s edition of ‘In Case You Missed It’, we look back on some fun Snapchat hacks that are sure to spice up your Snaps! Hope you enjoy all of these hacks as much as we did on Snapchat!

It’s been a big spring for Snapchat. In their Chat 2.0 update, they introduced new features like the ability to make video and audio calls with one tap, or even with stickers! It also launched Auto-Advance Stories — when you finish one, the next one now begins automatically. Basically, the world runs on Snaps now.

Since starting up in 2011, the messaging app has truly had a meteoric rise. The kids are still flocking to it — when teens were asked which social networks were most important to them, Snapchat shot up to #3 last fall, jumping up from 13 percent to 19 percent in just six months. And, we all know that if teens say something is hot, it’s hot. So, if you want to stave off unfounded accusations of having joined the olds, you need to know the ins and outs of all things Snapchat! Here are some great hacks that will make you a Story telling pro in no time.

Make sure you have the Chat 2.0 update

First of all, make sure you have the latest version of Snapchat! Just go to the App Store, check your updates, and scroll down to Snapchat. Then you should be able to go into your Snapchat app and see all of the recent updates. If you have auto-update on, you’re already set!

Combine filters

After you’ve taken your snap, swipe one filter into place and hold it down with your finger, then use your other hand to swipe and select an additional filter. Swipe to the right to get those location-specific filters! In the iOS app, you can add up to three filters on a photo or five on a video by repeating the process.

Make your captions bigger

You can make your hilarious captions bigger by tapping the “T” icon in the upper right-hand corner of the screen after you’ve finished typing.

Save Messages

Here’s a basic one, just in case you ignored those messages Snapchat sent you when you first signed up (who reads those, anyway?). Any message can be saved with a simple tap and hold, preserving the message even after it’s been read and you’ve left the app. Messages can be unsaved in the same way. The line on the left will be thicker next to saved messages.
