Konin then had to have approximately 3 feet of his small intestines removed.

“His recovery has been difficult as he has lost over 30% of his body weight due to Small Bowel Syndrome & an infection post-surgery,” his family wrote on a GoFundMe page.
Konin landed back in the hospital and had to have 3 different feeding tubes after losing so much weight.
He’s not out of the woods yet, and he still has a long way to go to recover from all of this. Now, Konin’s mom Hannah is trying to raise as much awareness as she can about the danger of these ball-shaped magnets.
“Our next step is trying to get with the governor of our state,” Konin’s mom Hannah explained on Facebook.
“We do hope to go home soon but his life, for now, is robbed as he’ll be on his feeding tube for 20 hours per day for the foreseeable future even when we do leave the hospital.”
