Shannon opened up her door, and Ian entered her room. According to an affidavit obtained by Chip Chick, Ian then started kissing Shannon.
Shannon never consented to a single thing, but then Ian took off her pants and forced himself on her.
Shannon told Ian to stop. When it was all over, Ian offered up an apology and left her dorm room. Shannon began texting a friend for help.
Even though Shannon reported what happened to authorities, years went by and Ian wasn’t charged or arrested for what he did to her.
Shannon decided she had no choice but to take matters into her own hands, and she bravely began communicating with Ian on Facebook messenger in December of 2019.
On December 8th, Ian sent a message to Shannon saying, “I kissed you. I grabbed your breasts. Then I tried to but I couldn’t because I was high.”
“Then I had to catch a plane. That’s why I ran. It was like 5am plane.”
Shannon kept going, sending more messages until Ian finally admitted what he did to her the following day.
“So I raped you,” he wrote back. He then sent another message. “I’ll never do it to anyone ever again.”
Shannon brought all of the messages to the authorities, and finally, 8 years after she was assaulted in her dorm room, Ian was being charged.
