Casey’s family also worked to get a private investigator on her case, and that investigator recently found her car crashed in the woods close to Woodhaven Road.

A day after Casey’s car was found, she was also located in Byberry Creek. The Philadelphia Medical Examiner has said Casey’s death was an accident after suffering from blunt impact trauma.

Authorities suspect at this time that Casey got into a car accident and perhaps was ejected from her car through her sunroof.

“Today has been a terrible nightmare,” Casey’s boyfriend Matt wrote in a Facebook post after the news of her passing.

“Nobody ever thinks that their story might have an ending that isn’t happy. Usually boy meets girls, boy and girl fall in love, happily ever after.”

“Today my happy ending was stolen from me. Today we found out that Cassandra Johnston, the brightest light on planet earth was blown out prematurely.”
