Her Cousin Used To Be Her Fiancé’s Friend With Benefits So She Doesn’t Want To Invite Her To Their Wedding

“It just seems so weird. My fiancé said he doesn’t care either way but sees how it could be weird for me, so he’s cool with it.”

She did point out that she never told her mom about Cass and Jack; her mom found out from her sister, who is Cass’s mom, because Cass confides in her mom about everything.

Her mom freaked out on her about wanting to keep Cass out of the wedding, and it doesn’t help that Cass is actually her goddaughter.

Her mom thinks that the past should be left behind and feels that Jack and Cass did not cheat on her, so Cass needs to be invited.

This bride-to-be responded that she will invite whoever she wants to her wedding, and she gets a final say for not inviting people as well.

Her mom truly feels a wedding should include the whole family, and she is insisting Cass should have an invitation to the wedding.

“She even called her sister (Cass’s mom) who then called me and said I need to get over it,” she said.

“I texted Cass and she was kinda short with me about it. She said she gets it and didn’t really argue but her texts were very short and way more formal than she normally is if that makes sense.”

She mentioned that she and Jack are paying for 1/3rd of the wedding, Jack’s parents are paying for 1/3rd, and then her mom is paying for 1/3rd.

She’s now wondering if it’s awful of her to exclude Cass, but she isn’t even that close to her and doesn’t spend a lot of time with her.

How would you deal with this?
