This young woman also learned that the little girl’s dad was out of the picture and had not been in her life for multiple years, so that wasn’t an option for someone to come get her.
So, the little girl called her uncle next and her uncle agreed to drive to his house to pick her up. The problem is, her uncle was a couple of hours away, and could not get there until the next morning.
“I spoke to the uncle in English (they spoke in another language when they were talking, not sure what it was) and he asked me if she could stay with me tonight and he would get her in the morning,” she said.
“So I made her dinner and let her sleep on my couch.”
She then went to bed, and when she woke up, she noticed a local Facebook group was flooded with posts about a little 11-year-old girl that ran away from home.
“People were posting that cops were driving around all night with search lights on and someone said they were in the woods with dogs,” she continued.
Thoroughly freaked out, she picked up her phone and called the little girl’s uncle, who said it was just a couple of miles away.
Her uncle asked her to drive the little girl to a local gas station so he could get her there, and she said she would do that.
So, she got in her car, took the little girl to the gas station, and re-united her with her uncle. When the little girl saw her uncle, she greeted him with an enormous hug.
Then, her uncle thanked this young woman for caring for the little girl, before heading off. She basically went home and sobbed for how sad this little girl’s life is after the drop off.
She’s not sure if it was wrong of her to handle things the way that she did though.
