“She told me she doesn’t have anything else to wear and that I don’t get to police what she’s wearing,” he said.
“I told her that judging by the amount of dirty clothes on her floor and in her closet, she clearly has other options, she just didn’t plan ahead enough to figure something out.”
“I told her it was disrespectful to her cousin, the bride, to wear something too revealing and tacky to their wedding.”
Jill got mad at him and accused him of being rude to her. She tried to say nobody would care what she had on, and she tried to argue with him further.
He shut her down by saying if that’s how she felt, she could find her own ride to the wedding because it was no longer his issue.
“She asked what that meant and I told her that if that’s what she wants to wear, she is going to have to find her own way to the wedding because I am not going to arrive with my daughter looking like she is about to hit a club at 2 am instead of attend her cousin’s wedding,” he continued.
Then, his wife intervened, telling them that they both had to cool off. His wife also thought he was being too controlling, before admitting she didn’t think Jill was dressed right for the occasion either.
His wife offered to help Jill pick something else out, but Jill was not having it. She stormed off to her room, despite the fact that they were all set to leave in 15 minutes, or they would be late.
He reminded Jill that she didn’t have much time left to change, but she screamed at him through her closed bedroom door.
He still waited around to see if Jill could get it together but after 20 minutes had passed and she didn’t come out, he entered her room to see what was going on.
Jill was no closer to being ready to leave, and she hadn’t found an appropriate outfit, so he made it clear to his wife that he was leaving without Jill.
