She Moved To California With A Man She Loved Then She Disappeared Nearly A Month Ago After Calling Her Mom From A Stranger’s Phone

“I let her go so she could call him and I say “You call me back! I love you,” Cheryl explained in a Facebook post. “The last words my daughter said were “I will Momma, I promise I love you more.”

After that, Cheryl stopped hearing from Lateche, and she also was unable to get a hold of Lateche’s boyfriend.

4 days later, Cheryl still couldn’t reach Lateche, so she called the San Diego Police Department to report her daughter as missing, but she says authorities did not take her report seriously and brushed it off.

Cheryl quickly boarded a plane to San Diego, and she started handing out flyers and talking to people in the area to see if she could future out what happened to her daughter.

“My daughter followed a troubled man out here that she loves, her spirit is a force to be reckoned with,” Cheryl said.

“She’s an ally, she’s an advocate, she’s the girl who was more excited to work with special needs students than she was for prom or homecoming. She’s a warrior, she won’t back down from those who oppress others.”

“She’s loyal and determined! She’ll jump into the fire for those she loves with no regard for herself because she thinks she’ll be fine!”

“She’s brave, and was taught not to be afraid and not to give up when life looks ugly… you fight harder!”

Cheryl is still searching for Lateche, and she has no plans to return home to Indiana until she gets answers.
