She Was In The Middle Of Planning Her Wedding When She Was Diagnosed With A Very Rare And Quickly Spreading Cancer

She immediately went to see a doctor, and following several tests, she was diagnosed with acute myeloid leukemia.

“This cancer has attacked her aggressively and required immediate hospitalization, blood transfusions, platelets, plasma, and she was put on oxygen,” Travis explained.

“Nadia began her first course of chemotherapy the first week of December, however, the doctors anticipate multiple courses that could span a 6-8 month period and will most likely result with a bone marrow transplant.”

“Due to the aggressive nature of this illness and the constant attention that Nadia will require, we’re fundraising for medical expenses that are not covered by insurance, a private nurse/caretaker, and extra funds to cover her living expenses as Nadia’s road to recovery will be long and she will not be able to work for an extended period of time.”

“Although we’re facing this extreme challenge, we’re optimistic that Nadia has the strength to overcome this illness and continue to make a positive impact on the lives of her family, friends, colleagues, students, and anyone that crosses her path.”

If you would like to donate to the GoFundMe Travis created to help cover Nadia’s growing medical bills, you can do that here.
