But the woman quickly unraveled their lies and realized that they were sleeping together. Soon after, they became official.
When the woman confronted her friend, she denied knowing her feelings, but they had definitely discussed them before.
When her best friend began to cry, she didn’t allow herself to be manipulated; she told her their friendship was over. Then, the best friend made another unforgivable move; she told her boyfriend that her friend was in love with him.
When friends began choosing sides, they appealed to her; “They say that our friendship is more important than my feelings for a guy. They say I should be happy that she’s happy, even though it comes at the expense of my happiness.”
She decided to go home early for Christmas and skip out on their New Year’s plans for an Air B&B at the coast.
“I felt really uncomfortable in the house we all share, she purposely brought him back and made a show of their relationship in front of me just to rub it in my face, and I wanted my mum.”
Besides a ruined friendship and not being with the person she loves, she’s stuck in her university lease until July or August.
Until then, she’ll have to share an apartment with her traitorous best friend and her boyfriend. But, she wrote, “I still love him. I still want him in my life, and I still want to be in his.”
She dreads going back to school after winter break and is even contemplating dropping out. Hopefully, she can find a solution to all this heartbreak without sacrificing her education.
