Police Department Tells Residents To Be On The Lookout For Apple AirTags After Two People Found Them Placed On Their Cars To Track Their Movements

“Always be vigilant and aware of your surroundings!”

Since AirTags are so tiny, it’s pretty easy for someone to put them on your car or toss them into your handbag without you even being aware of what’s going on.

“Worse than a car being stolen are the obvious potential nefarious uses of these devices to stalk or track someone,” the West Seneca Police Department noted.

“The use of such devices typically falls under NYS stalking laws which prohibit their use and which were signed into legislation as “Jackie’s Law”, named after a domestic violence victim and West Seneca resident.”
