According to the Kennel club’s website, the Russian Toy comes from a line that served as companions to Russian aristocrats, which required intelligence, a good disposition, and a “strong desire to please.”
While they are devoted to their owners, this breed might be less amenable to strangers, making them less likely to be a hit at the dog park.
They are, however, beautiful dogs and require semi-regular baths, which may categorize them as more high maintenance than your average dog breed.
