This Sweet Dachshund Was Only Given 3 Months To Live, But His Owner Found A New Treatment For Him That Should Help Prolong His Life

“He was concerned that his lymph nodes could begin to push in on his colon, causing life-threatening obstipation. He gave us a prognosis of about three months without intervention.”

But then, something amazing happened; she found out about IMRT radiotherapy. It could potentially shrink this type of tumor, even in its late stages of progression, and increase Todd’s life expectancy substantially.

But it isn’t cheap; IMRT can cost anywhere between $8,000-$10,000. So though she doesn’t like asking for help, she knew she had to do something to try and save Todd. “This dog is my family. He means everything to me and I can’t give up on him.”

Without social media, Diana was at a loss for how to fundraise until she remembered friends who had found support through the online community. So, she decided to send her prayers “into the void.”

And the void talked back! She ended up surpassing her $8,000 goal, and commenters expressed their love and support.

“There is no greater bond than a human and a pup,” one kind donor wrote. “Hoping Todd gets the care he deserves!”

Diana isn’t ready to give up on her pup, and he’s still young and excited to live. You can find her moving story and donate to Todd’s medical fund here.
