They wrote, “It’s not realistic for you to check in with your mother every time you make a big decision for yourself or as a couple. Sure, seeking advice from parents is good, but it’s ultimately your choice as an adult and as a couple what you do.”
Hopefully, he can set some boundaries with his mom before she interferes in his relationship any further. Otherwise, it seems the young couple may not stand a chance at a healthy marriage.
