Geographically, Midwest metro areas represent the most significant gender wage gaps. Elkhart-Goshen, Indiana, is the metro area where young women are earning the least. There, female workers earn sixty-seven percent of their male counterparts’ median salaries.
And still, nationwide, “women under thirty who work full time, year-round earn about ninety-three cents on the dollar compared with men in the same age range, measured at the median,” the report stated.
Nonetheless, it appears that major metropolitan areas are leading the way in closing the gender pay gap.
