She Told Her Boyfriend That There’s No Way She’s Going To Wear His Grandma’s Ring If He Proposes To Her With It

She felt awful about how the whole scenario played out and turned to Reddit for advice on her predicament.

In the comments, she clarified, “I still feel like he’s hurt and scared to propose now out of fear I won’t like what he gets me.”

Other users offered their suggestions for how to move forward. One person validated her perspective, writing “one user wrote, “I think the person that’s supposed to wear the ring for the rest of their life should get a say in the style.”

Another person felt that the position her boyfriend had put her in had been unfair and that she was at a disadvantage from the beginning.

“He asked for your opinion on colored stones in general, then acted as if your response was specifically about his grandmother’s ring.”

Though her boyfriend is still planning to propose and buy a ring that suits her, the communication breakdown over the family heirloom has undoubtedly cast a cloud on their engagement.
