It did not go well, as towards the end of their chat she told him that if he does not go on the trip, then it will be “an indication of how [he] feels about the relationship.” Yikes.
This couple has been going through a rough patch for a while now and seeing a therapist to try to work through their issues.
The two went back and forth arguing about this trip for a while, and despite pleading with her and telling her he cannot afford it, he eventually told her to just go ahead and buy the tickets because he “did not have the energy for a fight.”
The husband brought up this issue at their following therapy appointment but claims that his wife still has not apologized for being so reckless with their spending, and he isn’t sure if she ever will.
