“In fact, she was showing no emotion whatsoever. I tried to engage in conversation with her the whole dinner but as I later told my best friend, “I’ve had much more engaging conversations with your cat. At least he meows back at me when I say something.”
As dinner came to an end, he did not ask this girl for her phone number because he had no interest in going out on a date with her again.
Despite his feelings, he kindly wished her goodbye and thought that was it.
A day after the date, his former coworker wanted to know how it went. She questioned him on why he did not ask her friend for her phone number, since her friend said they had “a great time.”
He couldn’t help but laugh out loud when his coworker said this, before pointing out that he thought this girl “was out of her mind if she thought that was a good time.”
What his former coworker failed to mention was that as they were having their conversation, she had her friend on speakerphone listening in.
The girl didn’t say anything at the moment and stayed silent on the other end of the phone, but now his former coworker expects him to apologize to her and take her out on a second date.
His former coworker insisted that her friend is reserved and takes a bit to open up, so that’s why the conversation didn’t exactly flow on the first date.
He doesn’t think his former coworker is spot on with this as the girl was acting like it was bothersome to be out with him.
It’s not that his former coworker’s friend was shy, which he could have easily dealt with or understood.
“She seemed uninterested in me, as if the date was a tedious chore she was forced to do,” he added.
