“Forty percent of her liver has been removed, and the vena cava has been reattached. Miraculously there have been no brain or spinal injuries.”
Unfortunately, only 12 people have survived this form of injury in 110 years. However, her sister Anna, whose lucky number happened to be 13, knew her sister had the strength to fight through.
“On May 18th, National Trauma Survivors Day, Eliza was the 13th person in 110 years of medical history to have survived this type of injury,” Anna said.
Anna decided to channel energy through her sister by opening Eliza’s phone and listening to her music.
While attempting to uncover her sister’s iPhone passcode, she realized Eliza’s four unique numbers were 1313.
Miraculously, Eliza has survived multiple surgeries, and while they are not out of the woods yet, she will continue to be monitored for the next few months in the Trauma Intensive Care Unit.
In order to help with assistance in medical aid and recovery, Anna has started a GoFundMe account to support her sister’s medical costs.
Just yesterday, Anna posted the GoFundMe page and has already accumulated almost $38,000!
To make this story even more heartwarming, multiple families have donated 1,313 in honor of the very special numbers who have continuously shown up as a sign for this strong young lady, Eliza.
