“A report written on the dress’s condition in early 2017 states, “a number of the seams are pulled and worn.”
“This is not surprising given how delicate the material is. There is puckering at the back by the hooks and eyes,” among other instances of damage.”
So, for those of you who have been wondering, no, Kim didn’t damage Mairlyn’s dress at all.
Also, Amanda Joiner who serves as the VP of Publishing and Licensing for Ripley’s Believe It or Not!, stayed with the dress nonstop while it was taken to New York for Kim to put it on for the Met Gala.
“From the bottom of the Met steps, where Kim got into the dress, to the top where it was returned, the dress was in the same condition it started in,” Amanda said.
If you’re interested in seeing the dress in person, you can actually travel to Ripley’s Believe It or Not! Hollywood in California, where it will be on display through this fall.
