A Flood Ruined Her Small Business And Her Friend Is Trying To Help Her Rebuild

On July 13, Jamela posted an update mainly to thank everyone that add donated. “I lost a lot of things, but I also gained a whole new appreciation for my community,” she said.

“As sad as it is that I’m gonna have to replace some things and deal with restoring the area, I am truly, truly grateful for all you guys have done.”

“I never thought that there were people out there that would come together to help me like this, and I’m not even sure how to form the words to thank you all.”

Just the gratitude that she expresses to complete strangers and community members is beautiful, and you can tell what a kind person she is.

So far, they have raised $6,805 of their $7,000 goal. 162 people donated what they could to help a woman continue to support her family with her craft. It gives me hope for some of the people out there.

One donator actually gave some words of support. “Sending love, strength, and resilient energy your way,” said Tasha White.

“I am not sure that we interacted on IG, but when I saw what happened to your craft space, it hurt my heart. I know along with making an income, crafting is therapy and a means for us to exercise our creativity.”

“Take the moment you need to deal with this temporary setback. But also know your crafty tribe is rallying for your rebuild to get back and running soon.”

It’s a rare thing that someone finds a community that supports them not only in the high points but in the lowest of low points too.

In the world we live in today, it is of the utmost importance to find those people that are true friends that are there for you through thick and thin, and you’re there for them as well.
