He first believed she had gone to sleep on the couch following their argument. Then, he claimed Lonene left him for another man.
According to the Rogers family’s babysitter, the husband was “shaking and sweaty” after arriving at her residence. Moreover, he did not leave for work nor contact the police until three hours later.
The husband claimed this gap in time was spent searching for his wife. Nonetheless, his alibi has never been corroborated.
And after the police searched the Rogers’ home, they found no signs of a struggle nor blood on the scene. In turn, no physical evidence was collected.

One detail still remains a mystery, though– why was the queen size blanket from the couple’s bed missing? The husband has never been able to explain this coincidence.
And according to the Justice for Lonene Facebook page created by her children, Alison and Aaron were “advised by their father to never speak of their mother or ask questions about her.”
Rumors also allegedly swept through the deaf community that people had answers but were afraid to come forward. Nonetheless, no members of the community have been properly questioned.
