The cross-ocean row was not just an attempt to break a world record, though. It was also completed in order to raise funds for the Anxiety and Depression Association of America– an organization dedicated to improving “the quality of life for those who suffer through evidence-based educational resources, professional practice, and scientific research.”
Lat 35 racing has since described the women as “wonderful, wonderful people who are doing amazing things… and the tapestry of life that they are currently weaving is already of mind-blowing beauty.”
And the social media community entirely agrees.
“You guys are my heroes! This is the most impressive feat of athleticism and teamwork I have ever witnessed. You are an inspiration to so many!” commented one user.
“Congratulations DJ, Brooke, Adrienne, and Libby! You did it! What an achievement and positive influence on so many of us women!” wrote a second.
