“At any moment, that car could have burst into flames. We are pleading with them to come forward. You are our heroes. You are our champions,” Cheryl said.
“The little girls have asked where their friends are that helped them out of the car. We just want to thank you. You are a part of our family now, and we cannot thank you enough for being so brave,” she added.
And in addition to the search for the heroes, Cheryl has also organized a GoFundMe campaign to help support her grandchildren during this incredibly trying time.
It was launched with a goal of just one thousand dollars. Yet, in only three days, people from the California community and beyond have contributed over fifty-seven thousand dollars.
Many donors also shared their fondest memories with Bonnie, who has touched the lives of countless people.
“I have so many amazing memories with Bonnie, whether we were laughing our faces off or crying over a deep conversation. Our dance days don’t exist without her; she is irreplaceable. She loved everyone fiercely and lives life loud and proud,” wrote Sharon Heilbrunn.
“We will miss Bonnie’s beautiful smile and loving spirit on campus. She was a huge part of our school and helped in every way possible. My prayers and deepest sympathies to you all,” wrote Kasey Slayton.
