Harry Styles’ Fans Are Convinced His New Song “Matilda” Is About Kendall Jenner, So Let’s See If You Think This Theory Holds Up

In turn, many fans believe that Styles gained an inside look at the ever-famous Kardashian-Jenner family and learned their “family first” motto is not always as it seems.

In the chorus of “Matilda,” Styles sings, “You can let it go. You can throw a party full of everyone you know. And not invite your family ’cause they never showed you love. You don’t have to be sorry for leaving and growing up.”

This might refer back to when Jenner and Styles were both experiencing newfound fame. Navigating the pressure as young adults, and having your mom as a manager, was probably not as glamorous as it might seem.

On top of that, there is a coincidental reference to when Jenner received shade for not inviting sister Kim Kardashian to her birthday party in 2016. And more recently, Jenner has seemingly taken a backseat in the new Kardashian-Jenner Hulu reality show.

Fans of Styles believe that he is trying to tell Jenner it is okay to step back and that she should not feel guilty.

Still, while all of this evidence may sound convincing, we will likely never know who the song is truly about. Even Styles admitted to not telling the mystery person it was about them. Nonetheless, he said in an interview that he believes the person will know it is about them after listening.

What do you think? Does the theory hold up, or are Styles’ fans making inaccurate assumptions?
