“I only ordered a salad so I could finish the rest off but I hated the sauces she chose for the ribs and most of the appetizer went untouched.”
After they were done at the restaurant, he pointed out to his wife that he was over having to drop $40 or more on her meals when they go out to eat, only to have her not eat anything.
“I told her that from now on, she can either order 2 things off the kid’s menu or we can work out something we both will enjoy and share,” he continued.
“She ignored me and thought I was not serious. Well, last night we went out to a wing place. As we sat down, I asked for a kid’s menu and she got confused.”
He let his wife know that the kid’s menu was for her, and she had the option to get something from there, or she had the option to split his food.
His wife went silent, before accusing him of demeaning her. Things only got worse, so they left, got into a huge blowout argument in the parking lot, and his wife called for an Uber so he had to drive home alone.
Since then, his wife has not spoken to him, and she even told her dad, who yelled at him over the phone for what he did.
He’s beginning to doubt that forcing his wife to order off the kid’s menu was the right way to deal with this.
Would you have done the same thing if you were in his shoes?
