In fact, the mild-colored Pollock fish is typically used to create surimi– a “fish flesh that has been deboned, washed to remove fat and unwanted bits, then minced into a paste.”
Afterward, that paste is blended, heated, and pressed into molds that look like crab legs.
But before you knock this recipe idea, remember that you have likely eaten imitation crab way more times than you have realized.
