She’s Worried About Her Boyfriend Spending $50 On A Friend While They Are Not Doing Great Financially

She held off on saying anything until they were alone in the car. Then, the woman asked why he would offer to pay, knowing their financial situation.

“He said it was because that’s just the kind of person he is. I told him that he is very sweet for offering, but we are not in a place to financially provide for other people– especially since Charlie is able to afford it,” the woman said.

After sharing her thoughts, Jack became upset and claimed she got unreasonably mad over him just trying to be generous.

“I am just confused and concerned over the fact that he would offer money up like that when we are severely struggling right now,” the woman said.

Nonetheless, the woman is now wondering if she overreacted and should not have made him feel bad about spending fifty dollars on a friend.

Financial conversations with partners can be hard to navigate. Do you believe Jack should have consulted the woman about offering to pay beforehand?
