Nonetheless, Bree is shocked the listing remained live for so long since it has clearly been abandoned for some time now.
“It was super misleading, and that was one thing I was banking on that gave me a lot of reassurance. I thought, ‘They have been replying to other people. Maybe they are just busy,'” she said.
And since Bree shared the upsetting experience on TikTok, her video has gone viral. It reached over 3.5 million people and gained one hundred and fifty-six thousand likes.
Some commenters tried to make light of the situation, while others suggested helpful tips for travelers relying on Airbnb for accommodations.
“I guess it is yours now,” joked one user.
“This is sad, but it happens way too often. Always ask for a live feed video to see the listing’s current condition,” commented another user.
“I always check the newest reviews. If they are older than one year, I do not book there,” wrote a third.
