A Former Four-Star Hotel Housekeeper Spilled The Beans About What Is Not Cleaned In Hotel Rooms, And It’s Disgusting

Staying at a nice hotel can be a great way to relax and unwind with family, friends, or a partner. But, most people understandably worry about how clean the rented rooms truly are– which pushes many vacationers to opt for nicer hotels with higher price tags.

After all, they are supposed to have a higher standard of cleanliness, right?

Well, according to one TikToker who was a former housekeeper for a four-star hotel, where you stay really does not matter.

In fact, the woman has actually cautioned the TikTok community to steer clear of numerous hotel room appliances, linens, and general amenities that she knows are not thoroughly cleaned between guests.

“Here are some things that I would not use or touch when I stay at a hotel coming from someone who used to clean hotel rooms,” the woman began.

First, she said patrons should never use a hotel room’s coffee pot or glassware. Apparently, they are not actually disinfected between uses.

Instead, housekeepers simply rinse them out in the bathroom sink before drying them with the same rag used to clean the rest of the room. Yuck!

Next, the TikToker advised all vacationers to steer clear of the hotel ice bucket. Sure, some people use them for more innocent purposes– like water bowls for pet dogs.

But, the woman also found some much more alarming “items” left inside the bucket.

“There are times where people do much worse things to these buckets, and I don’t even want to talk about that,” the woman said.

And, if you had a hunch that the bedspreads in hotel rooms do not get washed, you are sadly correct.

According to the TikToker, these blankets are only cleaned once a year! The only time a bedspread is washed more than that is if there is a visible stain.

“Take that sh*t off of your bed the minute you walk in there, and do not put it back on the bed. Seriously, I have seen some things,” the woman advised.

This video exposing the disgusting sanitary practices of many hotels has utterly shocked the TikTok community– garnering over 1.1 million views, gaining sixty-eight thousand likes, and spurring nearly three thousand comments.

“So we pay all of this money to stay in a hotel, and we cannot use anything that is there?! What, are we supposed to bring our own bed sheets on vacation with us?!” asked one user.

“All of a sudden, I seem so much less crazy when I always want to take my own pillow and blanket to hotels!” commented another user.

“I almost got fired because I stripped every bed and put it down the linen shoot even after they asked me to stop. They were SO upset over it!” wrote a former hotel housekeeper.

And just in case you could not be any more skeeved out, the TikToker has since made another video sharing some of the weirdest things she has encountered while cleaning hotel rooms.

They range from discovering frozen turkeys floating in bathtubs to finding cake literally jammed in toilets.
