Earlier yesterday morning, her best friend sent a text stating that she was dropping by to do her laundry.
It irritates her that her best friend never asks; she only tells her when she’s doing laundry and even just walks right into the house without knocking.
“I know it sounds really mean, but I just am very much an introvert, and I value my alone time, and I think at this late in my pregnancy, I just want to be at the house by myself with my toddler and husband,” she said.
“My husband has also been increasingly annoyed with her presence and feels uncomfortable in his own house when she is here because she just stays all day long, lounging around.”
“And kind of expects to be served as I make her lunch and tea and clean all the dishes afterward, etc. She does not offer to do anything.”
A couple of hours ago, she finally let her best friend know that she wasn’t allowed to continue doing laundry at her house.
She offered up an explanation; that she didn’t want anyone around her baby for a couple of months after she gives birth.
Her best friend was not ready to accept that answer, and her best friend clearly was upset with her stating that she was no longer welcome to do laundry.
She’s curious if it was mean of her, after all, to stop allowing her best friend to do laundry at her house, as she really feels terrible about this interaction.
