“I asked him why he said that, and he doubled down and said “because it’s true, I think she was..’”
She was so upset by her boyfriend saying that his ex-girlfriend is more beautiful than she is that she pulled away from him and said she needed some space away from him.
It seems that he still has no clue how much his words cut her, and she’s left feeling like she’s playing second fiddle to Alice.
“Thing is, Alice died in a tragic accident a decade ago when they were dating,” she continued. “I always feel like she truly has his heart, even though he swears it’s not the case.”
“But then he says things like this. I can’t console myself with the idea that even though he thinks she’s more beautiful, he chose me —because he didn’t have a choice with her.”
“I’m an insecure person…and I never feel desired by him. This is less about me comparing myself to his deceased ex and more about the mere fact that I expected him to see me as the most beautiful.”
“This has really hurt me, and I don’t know how to move forward. I cannot shake the feeling of being a downgrade.”
