The fourteen-year-old became interested in fitness, protein powers, body spray, classic rock, and provocative clothing. Most of these would have previously triggered Alicia.
In turn, Jessica and investigators were forced to consider that Alicia may have been the victim of online grooming.
Her mother described Alicia as a sweet girl whose warm personality had already been taken advantage of in the past.
And coupled with the fact that Alicia took very few personal belongings with her, investigators believe that she did not anticipate leaving home for so long. Instead, one theory suggests that Alicia was lured out of her home for a meet-up and was later prevented from returning home.
She was last seen on September 19 at La Pradera Park, where a family friend of the Navarro’s recognized Alicia. She was said to be walking “with an African American man with tattoos on his face, neck, and hands.”

It has now been nearly three years since the sighting, though, and Alicia’s case has remained cold.
Jessica has continued to search for her daughter with investigators and has also created a Facebook group and website dedicated to raising awareness of her case.
Anyone with further information regarding Alicia’s disappearance is urged to contact the Glendale Police Department at (623) 930-3000 and The Anti-Predator Project at (305) 796-4859.
