And now, since she just recently got engaged, their differing views of their stepfather and stepdaughter relationship have been causing some serious issues.
Apparently, Luke had assumed he would walk her down the aisle and participate in the father-daughter dance.
But, she told him he was never going to be the person she asked– if she even decided to ask anyone at all.
Then, Luke began saying he would be the most logical choice and that it is only customary for a father to walk his daughter down the aisle.
She was not hearing any of that, though.
“I pointed out that my dad is dead and how if we were going down that line, my grandfather would be the obvious pick for me,” she recalled.
After that, though, Luke claimed that he had been her dad for nine years now and argued that once he married her mother, he became her dad.
Still, though, she just simply does not see it that way.
She still has many fond memories of her biological father and said that even though she appreciates everything Luke has done for her, she never needed him as her siblings did.
And even though she was just speaking her mind, Luke became seriously pissed off.
He apparently called her a jerk and told her she needed to accept that he was her father, whether she liked it or not.
