TikTok Influencer Opens Up About Parenting Struggles And Asks For Advice After Her Four-Year-Old Daughter Was Bullied

Then, the four-year-old began asking Kat why her friends did not like her– and Kat tried to explain the best she could.

“I did not even know how to respond. I just said, ‘Everyone sometimes makes mistakes, and sometimes people are not feeling the best, and then they treat other people not so nicely. And you can’t control that. So, when you are around people who are not so nice, it’s just best to walk away,'” Kat explained.

And while the mom came up with the best explanation she could at the time, Kat has still been struggling to understand how parents navigate these devastating experiences.

“How do you handle situations like this with your children?” she asked the TikTok community.

Her heart-wrenching video has since garnered over 3.3 million views, gained nearly three hundred and twenty-five thousand likes, and prompted over eight thousand comments. Most TikTok parents showed empathy for Kat’s parenting struggle and underscored that her initial response to her daughter was perfectly said.

“No one told me that the day I became a mom, I would worry for the rest of my life. The hardest part about parenting is the emotional toll,” commented one sympathetic user. “It is so hard. You did well. And I always make sure to tell my girls, ‘Please never make someone else feel that way. Remember how this feels,'” added a second user.

“Honestly, you nailed it. As someone who walks parents through this, you used almost the exact language I would offer as a suggestion,” wrote a parenting expert.

If you are a parent, have you ever been faced with a similar situation? How did you get through it, and what did you tell your child?
