Plus, if the proposal does go amazingly, then ring shopping with your partner can be another intimate pre-wedding experience that can bring the two of you even closer together.
Sterling Forever outlined all of these reasons in a now-viral Instagram Reel, which has since garnered over 4.3 million views, gained two hundred and forty-five thousand likes, and spurred over five hundred comments.
Apparently, tons of people had not heard of the “fake engagement ring” trend and were shocked by the ingenious idea. Some even suggested other scenarios where a fake ring might be beneficial, as well as how to make a fake ring more romantic.
“This is honestly super smart,” commented one user.
“I think this is so much better, but honestly, the fake ring could be like a ring pop or even a paper ring with a love note hidden in it. So much cheaper and super cute,” suggested another user.
“I feel like people also do this in case they lose it at proposal sites– lots of them being at beaches or hiking spots,” wrote a third user.
Regardless of why or how you want to use a fake engagement ring to your advantage, though, it is clearly hard to go wrong with the budget option.
