So, equipped with the surveillance footage, the animal care officers were able to locate the perpetrator and contact their residence in Vallejo, California.
The person reportedly admitted to dumping the puppy away because they claimed to have thought it was dead or dying. However, they also revealed they never sought out any veterinary care for the pup after it began suffering from diarrhea and was “just dying.”
In turn, the Vallejo resident has since been arrested for felony animal cruelty, willfully abandoning an animal, and violating prior misdemeanor probation. He has also been booked in the Solano County Jail. Additionally, the Facebook press release detailing this horrifying incident has gained widespread attention among Californians.
