Her sister did not take that well, though, and ended up calling back just to scream at her. So, she decided to just block her sister’s phone number and move on.
However, this opened up a firestorm of angry calls and messages from her other family members.
“I got nasty messages from my sister’s partner’s sister and one of the parents. I never even met them, let alone know their names,” she recalled.
“And now, one week later, I have gotten so many messages from my aunt, one of my cousins, and my grandmother.”
Apparently, everyone has been saying how utterly selfish she is for “not doing it for her sister.” And she just cannot believe her entire family would do this.
Thankfully, four of her cousins are on her side and totally support her decision not to attend. Still, though, her mother has been kind of passive-aggressive about the entire situation and her dad has not said anything at all.
So now, she is not sure if choosing not to attend the wedding is a totally justified decision or if she should just go anyway.
If you were in her shoes, would you still go to the wedding? What do those comments say about her sister? How would you move forward from this?
