Her brother took Fluffy back to the vet, where he learned that Fluffy now needs to have a really intense surgery that’s going to cost approximately $10,000.
As soon as her brother got that news, he lost it, as he does not have that kind of money. Her brother did tell her mom, but her mom said she does not want to take more money out of her savings to help pay for Fluffy, especially considering there is a chance that this surgery will not help Fluffy at all.
Her brother also has not yet paid back her mom for that initial $3,000 she gave him to help with Fluffy. Her brother and his wife make around $60,000 a year each, yet they blow it on absolutely everything while saving nothing. Her brother and his wife constantly turn to her to pay for their food or lend them money, and now they’re turning to her to pay for Fluffy’s expensive surgery.
“I’m currently a student, and the money I have saved up is for my master’s program that’ll start next fall,” she said.
“It has taken me a while to save this money up, and now it feels like it is being taken away from me, it sounds selfish I know. This surgery has a 30% chance of success for his state, and I feel like it’ll just lead to more complications down the line that my Brother and SIL can’t afford.”
She’s left wondering if she should give into her family’s pressure and pay the $10,000 for Fluffy’s surgery.
Do you think she should?
