On top of that, her fiancé also got his mom involved. So now, she has been feuding with her mother-in-law, which is, obviously, not a great way to start out a partnership.
First, her mother-in-law just tried urging her to reconsider her shoe decision. But afterward, once she refused again, her mother-in-law tried to say that her being unwilling to cooperate was a huge indicator of her maturity level.
“Then, she went on a long rant about what lengths ‘real wives’ are willing to go to in order to help out their husbands,” she explained.
Plus, during that rant, her mother-in-law actually had the nerve to accuse her of being too immature and shallow to be in a committed marriage. Jeez. Anyway, all of this upset has caused her to feel guilty about wanting to wear high heels at her wedding. But, to be frank, her refusal is not just about her desire to wear the heels.
Instead, she claims that the high heels actually help elongate her dress and make it look better. Besides that, she also just believes that she deserves to feel her best on her wedding day, and she thinks that her fiancé’s insecurities are preventing her from attaining that dream.
Regardless of her personal views, though, she cannot help but wonder if her fiancé is right and if she really is acting like a selfish jerk by wearing heels.
Does it seem like someone is going to end up unhappy either way? Do you believe she should compromise for the insecurity, or should her husband try to get over his insecurity? What shoes would you wear if this were your wedding?
