First, he apparently asked who had bought her the flowers. And again, since she thought her husband had been joking in the past, she decided to respond with a light-hearted tease.
“My best friend and biggest fan, ME!” she told her husband.
Unfortunately, though, her comment was taken way too harshly by her husband. In fact, he became infuriated! Her husband reportedly believes that she should not buy flowers for herself and that she is actually doing it just to make him feel bad.
However, that is obviously not the case, and she tried to tell her husband that he could buy her flowers whenever he wanted. After all, there is no such thing as having too many flowers.
She also explained how her buying herself flowers to feel happier throughout her workday had absolutely nothing to do with him. Regardless of her efforts, though, her husband just got more and more furious.
“He just started raising his voice and getting really angry– saying that this has been going on for a long time and that it is just another example of how I make him feel ‘less than,'” she vented.
So anyway, now she is at a total loss about what to do. She knows that buying herself flowers was never rooted in ill intentions. But, her husband’s furious reaction has made her question if she is somehow missing something about this situation.
Do flowers have to be bought by your significant other? Is her husband’s reaction a red flag? Do you suspect that there is possibly some deeper reason as to why he gets so upset after seeing the self-bought bouquets?
