However, soon after her treatment, she started missing her periods and was told that she had entered induced medical menopause. Which therefore meant that she could not have children.
5 years after recovering from all of her procedures, she miraculously became pregnant with her son. Due to not having a very big belly, she did not know she was pregnant for around seven months. It wasn’t until she was on vacation in Spain to visit family that she noticed she was nauseous and her face was swelling up. That’s when she also noticed significant changes in her body, specifically her tummy.
“I just thought I was getting thick because I was eating a lot,” explains Becca. “But I guess I was eating for two.”
She took a pregnancy test as soon as she got home to England and ended up having an emergency C-section one week later. Her son was born prematurely, at just over 28 weeks. He had to be in the neonatal care unit at the hospital for a while but is finally home with Becca and is doing great!
“He’s done so amazing,” says Becca. “I’m so proud of him. He’s come a long way. We both have.”
