Yesterday, her boyfriend’s outfit was so awful that she said no to grabbing lunch with him in public.
She is willing to compromise and just get her boyfriend to put on a pair of nice-fitting gym shorts and a tee; he doesn’t even need to get a suit or jeans.
She really can’t say anything to her boyfriend about how he dresses because every time she tries to talk to him, things spiral into an argument quickly.
“I want a man that I’m proud to be in public with, not a mid-30s-year-old I have to argue with to put on proper shorts and a half-decent t-shirt,” she said.
“I do love him, and I don’t know if “bad taste” is the hill I’m willing to die on, but goddamn, why can’t I just have a man that wears jeans?”
