Boston Harbor Unit Officers Miraculously Rescued A Father And Son After Their Boat Sunk 100 Yards Off The Coast

Boyle explained how the situation could have turned fatal if they had been left in the water for even a second longer.

“You may have eyes on them and think, ‘Oh, we have them, they’re safe,’ but they’re not. It’s very quick. You could even be looking at them, and they could drop right under [the water], and we would never get them again. It’s scary,” he said.

Afterward, the two men were transported to the hospital and are recovering fine. Their boat was also raised out of the water and towed to Thompson’s Island.

The Boston Police Department has since shared this remarkable rescue story on Facebook, where over one thousand and four hundred grateful community members have liked the post and applauded the officers’ efforts.

“Miraculous rescue! Bravo, BPD officers!” commented one user.

“Thankful you were both there! Thank you for a job well done!” wrote a second user.
