After Sen. Marsha Blackburn saw the video, though, she decided to share a clip from Dylan’s video and condemn the normalization on Twitter.
“Dylan Mulvaney, Joe Biden, and radical left-wing lunatics want to make this absurdity normal,” Blackburn tweeted. The post then gained nearly ten thousand likes and almost one thousand and five hundred retweets.
Then, as the tweet picked up momentum, Caitlyn Jenner also jumped into the conversation and misgendered Dylan as well as tore her down.
“He is talking about his [genitals]!” Caitlyn originally tweeted– a response that has since been deleted.
“There is a difference between acceptance and tolerance, and normalizing exposing your genitals in a public way and a public place. I do not support that at all, in the slightest. Dylan… congrats you’re trans with a [gentials],” Caitlyn added in a subsequent tweet.
Immediately after posting, though, tons of people flocked to defend Dylan and pointed out the hypocrisy of it all.
“You realize you transitioned, right? And support a political party that demonizes the trans community. You play on a female golf team, and at the same time, Republicans are banning trans kids from playing sports. You’re a walking hypocrite,” responded one user.
“You called her a he… That’s the issue, don’t you see that? You would have had a fit if someone called you a he in the public eye. I will never call you an ally of the LGBTQ+ or a part of our community. Disgrace,” another user wrote.
“Seriously?! That would be like me calling you Bruce!! You should be ashamed of yourself! How dare you!” said a third outraged user.
Numerous people also pointed out that Caitlyn accused Dylan of “exposing herself” when she was simply wearing shorts– and not even short shorts.
Following the controversy, Dylan then took to TikTok to share her feelings on the Senator and Cailtyn’s derogatory statements.
