“She eats almost nothing for lunch and usually has a small-ish dinner. But she loves a huge breakfast,” he noted.
He, on the other hand, normally just has a bowl of cold cereal for breakfast. Or, whenever he is feeling very ambitious, he will heat up some instant oatmeal and pour himself a glass of orange juice.
After all, he claims he only starts to come alive when he is halfway through his second cup of coffee. So, cooking himself an entire meal is never something he really wants to do.
Obviously, though, his girlfriend has proved that she is always up to the breakfast challenge, and he wanted to capitalize on that.
So, he recently asked if she would be willing to start cooking breakfast for him, too.
But then, his girlfriend asked if he would ever step in and make breakfast for her, also. That way, there would be a trade-off of the responsibility.
He basically just told his girlfriend no, though, and “reminded” her that he often cooks dinner for her already. Still, to his shock, his girlfriend refused.
She believes that since they already trade off cooking dinner, they should also divide up the labor of breakfast. But, he claims it would be impossible for him to make that happen.
“I told her that there is no way I will ever be able to muster that kind of energy first thing in the morning, but that since she obviously can, she should just make me breakfast, too,” he explained.
“I said that it would take next to no extra effort on her part to throw in a couple more eggs, strips of bacon, an extra portion of hashbrowns, etc since she is already doing it for herself anyway.”
Well, his girlfriend did not agree with that at all, and his request actually landed him in really hot water.
