Interestingly, though, the part of this situation that has been upsetting him the most has to do with his current girlfriend.
Apparently, he has been dating a new woman, who is twenty-eight, for about ten months now. And even though they have only been together for a short time, he claims that they both see a future life together.
So, when he was speaking with his ex-wife recently, he decided to propose the idea of introducing his girlfriend to his daughter. But his ex-wife was far from thrilled about that.
Instead, she reportedly said that introduction would not be happening and claimed it was a terrible idea. But he honestly does not understand why and believes it is only fair that his daughter gets to know about his life, too.
“If I want to reintroduce her [his daughter] into my life, isn’t it fair that she gets to see my life, too?” he asked.
“Obviously, I care for this girl, and I will care for my daughter’s life too. But a relationship has to be two-sided, and I don’t think it’s out of the question to show her my life, too.”
Still, though, after hearing how opposed his ex-wife was to the idea, he cannot help but wonder if wanting his daughter to meet his girlfriend makes him a total jerk.
Why do you think his ex-wife thinks that the introduction would be a terrible idea? Does it make sense why his ex-wife might not want him, or his girlfriend, to take on such a large role in his daughter’s life after he was absent for so long? If you were in his ex-wife’s shoes, how would you feel about this entire situation?
