She didn’t really press Mark to talk about anything, but she did attempt to discuss it with him, though he quickly shut the conversation down.
“Now I just found out that he has an invite to Amanda’s wedding in March,” she said. “He doesn’t have a plus one, but he still really wants to go. He didn’t ask me if he could; he just told me.”
“I told him I felt weird about him going, especially alone and especially given how much he loved her, but he says it’s all in the past, and nothing is happening, so it shouldn’t matter. I get that, but I feel really odd about him going to his ex’s wedding – I’m sure it would’ve been them getting married if she’d have been in the right place at the time.”
After wondering what the best thing to do was, she decided to let Mark know that she was not comfortable with him going to Amanda’s wedding alone.
In response to that, Mark agreed not to attend Amanda’s wedding, and he did give her a reason as to why he really wanted to go in the first place.
Apparently, Mark was hopeful that he could get closure from Amanda by going to the wedding, and he admitted that he feels very upset that she did decide to get married when she promised she never wanted to.
“But that he doesn’t need that closure if it’ll cost me happiness or our relationship,” she added.
Do you still think that she should be worried about Mark’s feelings for Amanda, though, or is it all innocuous enough?
